Mike Loshak

Mike was named Sweden's teacher of the year in 2024.

Mike Loshak is an accomplished music educator with over 30 years of teaching experience across the UK and Sweden. He has specialised in:

  • teaching primary and secondary music

  • lecturing in music education and supervising student teachers at
    Uppsala University

  • children with additional and complex needs accessing the music curriculum

  • delivering El Sistema (Big Noise) music projects for children and their families in immigrant and refugee communities.

  • using music to enable struggling pupils to grow in confidence by taking leading roles in performances

  • supporting and training non-specialist classroom teachers to develop the confidence to lead regular music-making
